OMAHA, Neb. – What a wonderful way to spend a weekend in Cornhusker country.

DePaul’s women’s tennis kicked off Friday night with a dramatic 4-3 singles final win against host Creighton, followed by a resounding 7-0 in Kansas City on Saturday.

Despite all the pressure and apprehension coach Marisa Arce and her team had experienced less than 24 hours earlier, Saturday was exactly the opposite as the Blue Demons won their fourth spot in a row.

DePaul (6-1) started the day by claiming the double point with the tandems of Lenka Antonijevic / Yuliya Kizelbasheva, Marija Jovicic / Kaya Rand and Aspasia Avgeri / Maddie Yergler who easily defeated their Kansas City counterparts.

Alina Kuzmenkova scored point No. 2 of the team with a 6-0, 6-0 by Riddhi Sharma at no. 2 in single. Yergler increased Blue Demon’s lead to 3-0 after knocking down Eva Kresovic 6-1, 6-3 to No. 6.
