Tech News: iPhone 13 Pro range might come with 120Hz display.
It has been repeatedly said that some models in the iPhone The 13 series will have 120Hz screens and there is now even more evidence that these high refresh rate displays are meant for iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
According to a report from TheElec, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will feature 120Hz LTPO AMOLED displays that will be made exclusively by the Samsung Display division. Additionally, Samsung Electro-Mechanics will supply flexible rigid printed circuit boards (RFPCBs) in the new ones iPhone.
RFPCBs are more expensive than traditional FPCBs and are used to connect OLED displays to the internal motherboard. RFPCBs are rigid but can still be folded, allowing for more sophisticated designs. Samsung Display will reportedly provide 110 million screens for iPhone this year, with another 50 million from LG display and 9 million from BOE – the latter two presumably only provide 60Hz screens for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics apparently wants to close the business because it hasn’t made enough profits in recent years. He provided cards for the iPhone 12 last year and apparently will do it again for the iPhone 13, but may still leave the business later, according to this report.
We expect the iPhone The release date 13 will be set for September 2021, but may change due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In the last 10 years, Apple steadily introduced its flagship phones at an event in early September and released the phones 10 days later. Everything changed in 2020, due to the pandemic, and phones were delayed beyond their usual window.
Normally we would expect Apple to stick to that September window, but as it turns out, the 2020 postponement has led to an increase in phone sales. This could mean that Apple decides to stick with this new window.
Meanwhile, another analyst said something similar, with the iPhone 13 series apparently on sale in the third week of September, which means an announcement earlier in the month. However, it is possible that one or more models will not hit stores until October.
