The improved Apple Maps data includes much more detailed 3D models The new map brings much more detailed 3D representations of famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and the Notre-Dame Cathedral. In some cases like in Auckland and Mont Saint-Michel, there were no 3D buildings at all with the old map. Also, the overall look of the map has changed to deemphasize roads and bring in more place names.

Apple Map data has been updated on a regular basis by Cupertino, bringing in more detailed views in a few nations across the world. In France, Monaco, and New Zealand, the revised maps will be available soon. According to Justin O’Beirne, who has been watching Apple’s rollouts of these upgrades, testing has already begun, but the general public may have to wait until mid-July – July 15 – to receive access (which usually come out on a Thursday or Fridaya).

Highlights

  • I honestly don’t know why Apple and even Microsoft waste their time with this, no one uses anything other than Google Maps and it’s been this way for over a decade. I’m so happy Google maps exist. Apple maps, lol. IMHO, the only thing Apple produces that’s worth buying is their Macbooks. Especially the M1 air (With the current *notchless* design).

  • Some places didn’t even have 3D models • The map has been restyle Previously, such maps became available in Germany and Singapore (April), Australia (December), Italy, San Marino, Vatican City and Andorra (September), Spain and Portugal (June). According to O’Beirne, the improved maps now cover a fifth of the world’s landmass and about a tenth of the population.
