These titles include Age of Empires 4, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Psychonauts 2, Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5. As for what these games could be, Bethesda’s Starfield (which is receiving its “finishing touches” as per director Todd Howard) is definitely likely. An image of the Xbox Game Pass sign-up page indicated a release in early 2023 so launching by March 31st, 2023 is certainly possible.
The console maker/publisher is on pace to “meet or exceed” the amount of games it publishes in fiscal year 2022. Microsoft declared in a recent press announcement (as reported by Windows Central) that it will “match or exceed” the amount of games launched in fiscal year 2022 in the following fiscal year. “Last fiscal year, we released five new games on consoles, PCs, and the cloud.” In the coming fiscal year, we are on course to achieve or exceed that sum.”
Highlights
The Summer Game Fest kicks off in a few hours but Microsoft has offered a bunch of gaming news in the meantime. It confirmed that the Xbox App with cloud gaming is coming to Samsung’s 2022 Smart TVs on June 30th. There’s also Project Moorcroft, an initiative to offer game demos through Game Pass within the next year. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.
The next Forza Motorsport may also arrive this Fall, assuming it follows the same pattern as previous releases. The rumoured Gears of War Collection is also possible along with Obsidian Entertainment’s Avowed. As for the rest, like Oxide Games’ Project Indus, Obsidian’s Pentiment and Stoic Studio’s Project Belfry, we’ll have to wait until the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12th.
