An Idaho man made his first federal court appearance on Friday after being indicted in the Northern District of Georgia on multiple counts related to hacking
According to the US Attorney’s Office, between June 23, 2017 and April 28, 2018, Robert Purbeck, 41, allegedly bought the usernames and passwords of multiple Georgia victims on an online crime market. Federal officials say Purbeck would then use the credentials to log into the victims’ computers and steal sensitive personally identifiable information.
