Honor launches smartwatch like Band 6 with a full screen display

Honor has launched a new smart wearable device, the Honor Band 6. Interestingly, it is dubbed the first fitness tracker in the world to feature a full screen display. Honor Band 6 was launched in two variants, one with NFC and the other without.

The wearable looks nothing like its predecessors and follows a design reminiscent of the Honor Watch ES. Speaking of device specs, the Honor Band 6 features a 1.47-inch AMOLED display that supports up to a resolution of 194 × 368 pixels. It is also covered with 2.5D glass.

There is no capacitive button on the device as it relies on gestures for navigation in the user interface. However, there is a physical button with a red accent on the right to wake the screen. Honor launched the wearable device in three color options: Meteorite Black, Seagull Gray and Coral Powder. But that’s just for the strap, with the main body only available in black.

As for the other hardware, the band includes Bluetooth 5.0, accelerometer, gyroscope, optical heart rate sensor, and a 180mAh battery. It is water resistant up to 5 ATM and recharges via a magnetic charger.

As for features, the Honor Band 6 comes with support for up to 10 sports modes, blood oxygen level monitoring, HUAWEI TruSeen 4.0, and even 24/7 heart rate monitoring. HUAWEI TruSleep sleep and menstrual cycle monitoring. The band promises a battery life of up to 14 days. The NFC version also supports contactless payments and voice assistant.

The Honor Band 6 comes with a model number ARG-B19 and in terms of body size it measures 43 × 25.4 × 11.45mm. It is also quite light at around 18g without the strap.

The Honor Band 6 is currently available in China and is sold in two variants with the first at 249 Yuan while the other at 289 Yuan. The company has yet to reveal any plans to launch the Honor Band 6 globally, but the band is expected to find its way into other markets including India in the coming weeks and months.

For now, interested buyers in China can pre-order the Band 6 starting today, with the Band 6 going on sale November 11 in China.
