Hands On New Google Pixel 4

Google has launched it’s new Pixel 4. Pixel 4 hits the market for expensive devices. With the dual-camera setup and SnapDragon processor, the smartphone is beyond limitation. Hence, the price of the smartphone is high.

Let’s have a quick look at the specifications of the smartphone.


The Pixel 4 offers amazing built quality. The smartphone is framed with an aluminum body. The display and the glass back are protected with Gorilla Glass 5. If you don’t like notched display or a notification light is inevitable for you. Don’t worry!! Hence, Google has focused on providing a round-corner display instead of using a notched display. It has a big camera bump on its rear, hence it looks a little weird like iPhone 11. With a slim body, Pixel 4 comes in three colors; Orange, White, and Black.

Pixel 4 has an all-new P-OLED display. The display sizes for 5.7 inches. It has the protection of Gorilla Glass 5 and IP68 dust/water resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 mins). Hence, you don’t have to worry about your device while kept on the meal desk. Most importantly, you are getting a 90Hz display that delivers a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels. Hence, the pixel density is ~444 PPI, you’ll not face any frame-drop issue while high-end gaming.

The Pixel series from the beginning was at its best at camera performance. So, Pixel 4 also has to be the best at its camera performance. Pixel 4 has a dual-camera setup of

  • 12.2 MP, f/1.7, 28mm (wide), 1/2.55″, 1.4µm, dual pixel PDAF, OIS
  • 16 MP, f/2.4, 45mm (telephoto), 1.0µm, PDAF, OIS, 2x optical zoom.

The rear camera setup shoots videos at 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps and 1080p@30fps with gyro-EIS.

It has a TOF 3D front camera of

  • 8 MP, f/2.0, 22mm (wide), 1.22µm. That shoots videos up to 1080p@30fps with auto HDR.

Pixel 4 is all set for high-end gaming with the Qualcomm SDM855 Snapdragon 855 (7 nm) chipset. Even if it’s non-stop gaming or multitasking, Pixel 4 is hard enough to manage it all. The Octa-cores of 1×2.84 GHz Kryo 485 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 485 & 4×1.78 GHz Kryo 485 are well designed for high performance with the Adreno 640.

Coming to the memory, it is available in 6GB RAM 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM 128GB ROM. Hence, it gives you optimal performance while multitasking.

All the above features and performances are driven by the 2800mAh Li-Po battery. As the smartphone has 18W Quick Charge support and has a small battery, it is charged way more faster than you think through wireless charging.

Coming to the connection ports, it has a Type-C port but doesn’t 3.5 mm headphone jack.
