We have seen some alleged renders of the device where Google could be opting to use a clean and minimal design, although the renders do make the watch look a bit “flat” compared to other models out there. We also expect that it will most likely be powered by Google’s new Wear OS platform that they reworked on together with Samsung.
We’ve known for a long that Google may be developing their own wristwatch. According to reports, Google’s speculated Pixel Watch might be released in May. According to a tip from Android Police, the wristwatch has shown in a carrier’s inventory system, which suggests that it will be released shortly. The item was described under the pseudonym “Rohan,” and it appears that at least three distinct hues will be available – grey, black, and gold. Aside from the listing, nothing more is known about Google’s impending wearable.
If the previous rumors are to be believed, the device could be announced towards the end of May, which interestingly enough is also roughly around the time Google I/O takes place. Google hasn’t announced when this year’s I/O will take place so take this with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we’ll have more details soon.
