There is a wide range of smart devices made by Google. In 2017, the company launched the Nest Guard secure alarm system and has never received any updates to date. Google has now decided to scrap the product. Although existing users will continue to be supported.

The report came courtesy of Android Police, where Google has confirmed Nest Guard is now discontinued. Last week, the product page for Nest Guard on the Google Store also showed a “No longer available” message. The secure alarm system will only work for people who have already purchased it.

“Google Nest will no longer produce Nest Secure, however we will continue to support our security users in the same way,” a spokesperson for Google told The Verge.

Nest Guard works like a keypad to turn the alarm on and off. The secure alarm system lets users know what’s going on and if anything needs attention, and its motion sensor can trigger the alarm. Google Nest Guard also connects to the Nest mobile app so users can receive alerts and remotely arm and disarm the system.

As mentioned, Google has never released a new update for Nest Guard, nor has it introduced a product successor. Although there are other Google products that contain the “Nest” in their titles, but they are all smart speakers like the second generation Google Nest Mini, Google Nest Audio, and Google Nest Hub.

Google Nest Guard works like a keyboard to turn the alarm on and off.
