Five more classic games could join PC Game Pass

You may be aware that Quake Champions is a free-to-play multiplayer game, and therefore wouldn’t need to be included with Game Pass, but a note on the Xbox website advises the following: “Game Pass Ultimate subscribers who join the Quake Champions Xbox Insiders Preview will also automatically receive the Champions Pack, which, includes the full roster of current and future Champions.”

We’ve been reporting on many retro games that Xbox Insiders have been testing over the past few weeks in anticipation of a potential PC Game Pass release in the near future, and five more games have now been added to that list. The games in question include Quake Champions, The Elder Scrolls: Arena, HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel, Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders, and HeXen: Beyond Heretic. Since they are all provided by Bethesda and Zenimax, there should be no barrier to their eventual inclusion in PC Game Pass.

  • So, how can you start playing these games right now? Here’s what you need to do: Sign in on Windows PC and launch the Xbox Insider Hub (or grab it from the Store if you don’t have the app). Navigate to Previews, then the game of your choice Select Join. Wait for the registration attempt to process and you’ll be able to install the preview. The other games that Xbox Insiders have been testing recently include Quake 4, Wolfenstein 3D and The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall, and it’ll be interesting to see if any other classics are added to the list over the coming weeks.
