Fitbit is rolling out Google Assistant support for Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 smartwatches in the United States. The update will be rolling out in the United States starting today. Fitbit’s smartwatches already come with support for Alexa, and the new software update has added more features to the watches such as support for Alexa’s audible responses.
Fitbit has implemented the Fitbit 5.1 operating system exclusively for Sense and Versa 3. Users wishing to purchase Fitbit Sense and Fitbit Versa 3 will have the option of choosing between two voice assistants such as the Google Assistant and Alexa. That would also make Fitbit the first smartwatch to feature dual voice assistant support.
In addition to Google Assistant support, users will also be able to receive phone calls using the microphone. The watch has a built-in speaker which would allow users to handle calls. Fitbit has also implemented a voice-to-text feature for Android users. Previously, users could only accept and decline calls from the smartwatch but had to use the phone to talk, but now they converse from the watch itself.
The new update will improve blood oxygen (SpO2) readings on Fitbit Sense and Versa 3.
Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 are yet to arrive in India. The company had revealed the Indian price of the smartwatches. Fitbit Sense was announced in India for Rs 34,999 while Fitbit Versa 3 is priced at Rs 26,499. Inspire 2 is slightly cheaper as it costs Rs 10,999.
Sense is the most expensive smartwatch in the entire range. It comes with some advanced features. The smartwatch is equipped with an EDA sensor which is used to manage stress. According to the company, no other smartwatch has this feature until now. In addition to the stress tracker, Fitbit Sense also comes with an ECG app that can detect heart problems. The company claims it has the most advanced heart rate tracking technology installed in Fitbit Sense.
The Fitbit Sense is also equipped with a skin temperature sensor that detects the user’s body calculator. Considering the pandemic in the air, this is one of the most important features a smartwatch can possess. In addition to this, the watch can also measure breathing rate and resting heart rate which would be useful for detecting early covid symptoms.Likewise, the Versa also comes with features like heart rate monitoring, built-in GPS and even more.
