Rick Fontana, director of emergency management, said in an email that multiple 911 calls were made around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday to report a fire at 1361 Chapel Street.
NEW HAVEN — A fire broke out Saturday morning at a building housing a local business and three apartments, officials said.
The fire is under control and the Red Cross is responding. Chapel Street is closed between Day Street and Orchard Street, officials said.
The address houses Dux Market on the first floor and three apartments on the second floor, Fontana wrote. Only one adult resident lives in the building and no injuries have been reported, Fontana said.
