The summer months are generally seen as the perfect time for publishers to put their sports games on subscription services as the next annual release is now roughly three months away and interest from hardcore fans will likely be beginning to wane. For example, NHL 22 was also given away to members quite recently.

The game was first given out through PS Plus, and now EA Play subscribers will be able to get their hands on it: Via June 23, 2022, FIFA 22 will be released on the publisher’s subscription service. The football simulator was rumoured to be arriving alongside Battlefield 2042 on EA Play, but only FIFA 22 has been confirmed thus far. For the time being, it joins the catalogue of playable titles.
