Default Facebook Messenger

Now that iOS 14 allows people to choose their default email and browser apps, Facebook wants Apple to allow customers to choose their default messaging app such as Android. Facebook’s vice president of Stan Chudnovsky:

We believe people should be able to choose different messaging apps and the default on their phone. In general, however, everything is moving in this direction.

As reported by The Mac Observer on Thursday, Epic Games has teamed up with companies like Tile and ProtonMail in an effort to persuade regulators to make Apple’s platform more open to competing companies. Openness is defined as anti-competitive policies, no wanting to pay the 30% app tax, and no consumer freedom.
