Dish TV, owned by Zee Group and Videocon Group, is one of the leading Direct-to-Home (DTH) operators in India. Dish TV has introduced an extended warranty scheme for D2h subscribers for Rs 99. The warranty scheme covers set-top boxes for that amount excluding GST.
First noticed by TelecomTalk, users will have to pay Rs 99 as part of a program to get a one-year extended warranty on their set-top boxes. The offer reads: “Get 1 year extended warranty on your set-top-box for only Rs 99 (GST Extra) and enjoy free set-top-box service.” Including GST, D2h subscribers will pay Rs 117.
To sign up for the extended warranty, users can visit the DTH operator website, find the offer page, enter details such as Registered Mobile Number / VC Number and pay the amount. For multiple set-top boxes, users will pay accordingly.
The extended warranty scheme offered by Dish TV is called the Box Service Plan protected by terms and conditions. The basic term includes that the set-top box must be in good condition. If a set-top box does not work properly, it will be repaired by the technician and the user can take advantage of the scheme. The repair costs in this case will be borne by the user.
Also, if a subscriber purchased the Box Service Plan while the main warranty was still in effect, the extended warranty period starts on the day after the original one expires. If a subscriber purchased the extended warranty after the main one has expired, the new warranty period will start from the 16th day of purchase of the service.
