Delivery guy runs away with iPhone 12 Pro Max units, becomes rich in the Rs 18 lakh heist

If there’s one thing that a large fraction of people like it’s the file iPhone. Case in point: a Chinese man who stole 14 units of iPhone 12 Pro Max, worth Rs 18 lakh, would have to deliver and sell some to live a life of fantasy, at least for a short time. The man was later captured, putting an end to his fun ride.

A Chinese delivery man, named Tang, was tasked with delivering 14 iPhone 12 Pro Max units from Meituan-Dianping trading company to an Apple Authorized Reseller in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. The delivery order was placed on November 14, according to a report from MyDrivers, a Chinese publication. Tang, upon receipt of 14 iPhone 12 Pro Max units apparently canceled these orders and paid 10 CNY for default on his work. But the biggest shock was when he didn’t return these iPhone 12 Pro Max units back to the shop.

Instead, Tang ran away with these units, which had a total value of around CNY 180,000, which translates to around Rs 18 lakh. It became untraceable after this robbery, involving the store manager and the delivery recipients who could contact the person. But the man was soon caught, thanks to his reckless shopping spree which he continued after selling some of the iPhone 12 Pro Max units to get instant cash.

According to the report, Tang had opened a box to use the file iPhone 12 Pro Max, one who gave his friend to pay off his debt, another who mortgaged at a pawn shop for CNY 9,500 and the fourth was sold to a cell phone dealer for CNY less 7,000. The original price of each iPhone 12 Pro Max was reported at 1,000 CNY. The money Tang got after swapping the two iPhone unit, it was spent on shopping. Like a man who won a lottery, Tang rented a BMW car for a fun ride at CNY 600 a day. He even bought new clothes that were expensive.

But his excitement was short-lived. Local police recovered these four units from their whereabouts. The politician seized the rest of the iPhone 12 Pro Max units, which were ten in number, and captured Tang. The Apple Store has now banned the person from its network and has even posted a blacklist for others in the same industry. Of course, Tang will likely face legal proceedings under the laws of the country.

This is one of the many cases that have happened so far with iPhone from Apple. People have done unthinkable things to get their hands on the new iPhone devices, either because they wanted to show them off or to get rich in an instant.

Previously, a Chinese boy was arrested when he tried to smuggle several iPhone X units from Hong Kong due to the price difference of iPhone in the two countries. A similar case occurred in Spain, when five Amazon employees attempted a robbery to steal the iPhone from the inventory, but were later captured when an internal operation was performed. The total value of these iPhone was around $ 500,000 (around Rs 3.71 crore).
