Apple is new MacBook Air is the company’s first M2 notebook and it’s a beast

The hardware looks and sounds awesome but what does it actually translate to in the real world? Well, according to Apple, Final Cut Pro performance is 38% better on the new MacBook Air compared to the old model with the Apple M1. Not too shabby for a fanless laptop with up to 18 hours battery life. Oh, and it’ll charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes with a 67W charger.

Here’s a rundown of what we’ve done thus far. We’ve all heard the rumours, but Apple finally put an end to them at WWDC. The M2 chip is genuine, and the MacBook Air, “the world’s best-selling laptop,” is the first Mac to incorporate it. Overall, it’s turning up to be quite the beast. It has been totally revamped on the outside, using the design language originally seen on the new MacBook Pro. That includes the notch in the display. The new MacBook Air will be available from July at a starting price of $1,199. So far, I’ve just heard of it.

  • From the news

  • The previous model MacBook Air isn’t going away, either. The M1 version is hanging around as a ‘budget’ offering, starting at $999. XDA » News Brief » The new MacBook Air is Apple’s first new M2 laptop and it’s a bit of a beast
