Apple HomePod Mini smart speaker may launch by end of 2020

Apple is set to host its high-speed event on October 13, which will see the long-awaited launch iPhone 12 series. However, apart from the iPhone, Apple has also speculated to release a HomePod 2. It would most likely be called the HomePod Mini.

According to tipster Lovetodream, Apple will most likely release the HomePod Mini on October 13th. Lovetodream tweets about upcoming Apple product launches and has reportedly got most of the launches right. So, given that fact, we can hope for a HomePod Mini for the October event or later this year too.

It is reported that even though Apple launches the much cheaper HomePod Mini, it will continue to sell the HomePod alongside the new model. The company was reportedly dissatisfied with sales of the device and lowered the price from last year. No information has been provided on how big or small the HomePod’s size and specs are, but some reports have stated that it could be priced around $ 199

The HomePod Mini, if launched, would compete with Amazon’s much cheaper range of smart speakers. Amazon launched a few smart speakers including the Echo Dot and Echo Show at this year’s event. That said, Apple will always have an edge over other smart speakers due to its superior sound quality that can’t be matched.

We at Theultramods had a chance to review the HomePod and here’s what we thought of Apple’s smart speaker: If you’re looking to get a speaker, primarily for music playback, the HomePod is a great option. It is a product specifically built to play songs, and this proves. It also looks great, something you expect from an Apple product, and its build quality is absolutely top notch. But don’t get HomePod if you want a speaker that can keep your kids entertained or if you want a speaker that you can give voice commands to control your smart home. While HomePod can do some of these things, that’s not its forte. Its strong point is playing music from Apple Music or through a third party app on iPhone. And it does so with style and with an authority that has no equal.

Apart from the iPhone, Apple has also speculated to release a HomePod 2. It would most likely be called the HomePod Mini.
