With work-from-home culture becoming the norm for many this year and an increase in demand for OTT perks, 2020 has seen telecom companies introduce some affordable broadband plans. Let’s take a look at these plans offered by Airtel, BSNL and Jio with Rs 1500.
Airtel Unlimited Rs 499 broadband plan: This broadband plan offers unlimited Internet with speeds up to 40 Mbps and other additional benefits such as Airtel XStream subscription, Wynk Music and Shaw Academy.
Airtel Premium Rs 799 broadband plan: This broadband plan offers unlimited internet with speeds of up to 70 Mbps and other additional benefits like Airtel XStream subscription, Wynk Music and Shaw Academy.
As of writing this article, Airtel’s website shows Rs 499 and Rs 799 as basic broadband plans. However, last month, some users noticed that the basic plans were revised to Rs 589 and Rs 943 respectively.
Airtel Entertainment’s broadband plan at Rs 999: The Airtel XStream broadband entertainment plan offers unlimited internet and high-speed calling up to 200 Mbps. The streaming benefits of this plan include an annual subscription to Zee5 Premium and Amazon Prime with access to the Airtel XStream box.
Airtel Ultra broadband plan at Rs 1499: The Airtel XStream Ultra Broadband Plan offers unlimited Internet with speeds up to 300 Mbps and unlimited local and STD calls. The streaming benefits of this plan include an annual subscription to Zee5 Premium and Amazon Prime with access to the Airtel XStream box.
BSNL Bharat Fiber Rs 449 broadband plan: When BSNL launched its broadband plans in October, it said it will be for a 90-day promotional period. Whether telecommunications will regularize this plan remains to be seen. The rs 449 broadband plan, also called the Fiber Basic plan, offers a speed of 30 Mbps up to 3.3TB of speed or an FUP limit of 3300GB. Once the FBD limit is reached, the speed is reduced to 2 Mbps. Users who opt for this plan will also receive unlimited voice calls on any network in India. BSNL has made this plan widely available in all circles except Andaman and Nicobar.
BSNL Rs 599 Fiber Basic Plus broadband plan: This is another basic broadband plan introduced by the government-owned telecommunications company just last week. As of now, this plan offers FTTH services. This plan offers speeds of 60 Mbps up to 3300 GB. The plan offers unlimited data benefits for users. After users have exhausted their monthly FBD limit, the speed will be reduced to 2 Mbps. However, there is no limit to the amount of data users can download or upload at 2 Mbps speeds after reaching the FBD limit.
BSNL Bharat Fiber Rs 799 broadband plan: This plan offers speeds of 100 Mbps up to 3300GB or 3.3TB. Once the FBD limit is reached, the speed is reduced to 2 Mbps.
BSNL Premium Fiber Rs 999 broadband plan: The BSNL Fiber Premium broadband plan offers speeds of 200 Mbps for Rs 999 up to 3300 GB or 3.3 TB, after which the speed is reduced to 2 Mbps. This plan includes a free premium subscription to Disney + Hotstar.
BSNL Ultra Fiber Rs 1499 broadband plan: This BSNL plan offers speeds of up to 300 Mbps up to 4TB or 4000GB. After the FBD limit, the speed is reduced to 4 Mbps. This plan also offers unlimited calling benefits to any network within the country. This plan also includes a free premium subscription to DIsney + Hotstar.
JioFiber has broadband plans starting at Rs 399 Rs 699. These plans offer truly unlimited Internet at speeds of 30 Mbps and 60 Mbps respectively. These plans do not come with any OTT subscription but offer unlimited calling.
Jio broadband plan Rs 999 which comes with truly unlimited internet with download and upload speeds of up to 150 Mbps. The plan also provides unlimited voice calls and access to 11 OTT apps including Amazon Prime, Disney + Hotstar worth Rs 1000. Other plans are in-range slightly higher.
JioFiber diamond broadband plan: The Diamond plan costs Rs 1499 and offers unlimited Internet with download and upload speeds of up to 300 Mbps. In addition to providing unlimited voice calls, it also offers a free subscription to 12 OTT apps at no additional cost.
Users can also consider Excitel’s broadband plans which provide unlimited data at speeds of 100 Mbps, 200 Mbps and 300 Mbps at Rs 699, Rs 849 and Rs 999 respectively for one month validity in 13 cities.
Airtel, BSNL and Jio offer a range of broadband plans starting at a monthly price of Rs 399. BSNL recently introduced a broadband plan for Rs 599 which offers speeds of 60 Mbps with up to 3300GB of data.
