Airtel brings back Rs 399 postpaid plan to counter Jio

Airtel has reintroduced its Rs 399 deferred payment plans in multiple telecom circles across India. Previously, this plan was only available in certain circles. The development is led by Airtel shortly after rival Jio introduced its JioPostPaid Plus plans, the cheapest of which comes for Rs 399. Jio offers 75GB of data, unlimited voice calls and SMS. For the JioPostPaid Plus plan of Rs 399, customers need to pay an additional Rs 99 to take advantage of the Amazon Prime subscription.

The Airtel Rs 399 postpaid plan offers 40GB of data at 3G or 4G speeds along with unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day. The postpaid Rs 399 plan also offers an included Airtel Xstream Premium subscription for one year in addition to Wynk Music and Shaw Academy subscriptions. Customers will also receive free Hellotunes and a cashback of Rs 150 on FASTag transactions.

Airtel’s Rs 399 postpaid plan was not fully withdrawn from telecommunications and was available in select circles in India. Now, the postpaid plan would be spotted by users in circles in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telangana who talked about the development on Telecom Talk. The postpaid Rs 399 plan was spotted by users on the Airtel Thanks app.

According to the report, this Rs 399 postpaid plan does not offer any additional links. Airtel users who opt for postpay plans of Rs 499 or higher can only get “Priority Service”, subject to the Terms and Conditions listed on the Airtel website.

Airtel’s Rs 499 postpaid plan offering, available nationwide, offers 75GB of data at 3G or 4G speeds with unlimited local, STD and roaming calling. This plan also offers one year of free subscription to Amazon Prime, Airtel Xstream Premium, and phone protection.

Other postpaid plans offered by Airtel are available at Rs 749, Rs 999, and Rs 1599 with 125GB, 150GB and unlimited data respectively.

Airtel users in multiple telecom circles in India have spotted a postpaid plan of Rs 399 on the Thanks app.
