Deal: 85% off Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2021 (Updated: Back in stock!) Now, though, we have a rumor about another Oppo foldable (via GSM Arena). This could be the long-awaited Oppo flip-style foldable we first heard about last year. That phone never materialized, so this could be the same one.
Oppo has yet to launch a foldable device outside of China, but its first foldable device was quite exciting. According to a new rumour, an Oppo flip-style foldable phone could be released this year. The rumour also suggests that the phone’s price may be lower than expected. Oppo’s only foldable device to date is the Find N, which has yet to leave China. So far, Oppo has only released one foldable phone: the Oppo Find N. The phone looks like a smaller version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, which we thought was pretty cool. Unfortunately, Oppo has not released the phone outside of its home country of China.
If Oppo can hit that pricing target — and actually bring the phone to countries that aren’t China — it could make a huge splash in the market. Considering Samsung completely dominates the foldable market at the moment, any bit of extra competition would be most welcome.
The biggest rumor related to this Oppo flip phone, though, is its price. The rumor suggests Oppo is aiming to price the phone around CNY 5,000 (~$757). If this pans out, this foldable could be much cheaper than its biggest competitor, which is the Galaxy Z Flip 3 ($999).
Elsewhere, the Oppo flip-style phone is rumored to land with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus, which heavily suggests we wouldn’t see it until the second half of 2022. Want to be one of the first to hear our opinions on the latest Oppo phones? Get Oppo phone reviews and more in your inbox.
